Toronto dealership extends helping hand to families and kids in need.

WireService.ca Press Release - 09/07/2013 - Budds’ Subaru is in the business of helping out in their community and the world. This is the service attitude that has helped the dealership to grow throughout the years. In the spirit of helping others, Budds’ Subaru recently set out to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House.

The Ronald McDonald House is a foundation dedicated to providing support and comfort to children and families who are dealing with the consequences of cancer. Through the building up and efforts of 290 local chapters in 57 countries, 324 houses, and 179 family rooms as well as grants and scholarships over the course of almost 40 years, the foundation has helped thousands of families to stay near their children during a trying time. The charity provides essential services and housing for families at a time of tremendous need.

For this extremely worthy cause, Budds’ Subaru raised $3,400 dollars. The money was raised through the TSC Hypermeet event on August 11th, and included a raffle for eligibility to win Budds’ used Subaru WRX. After purchasing a $10 ticket to win the vehicle, Subaru enthusiast Alex Aruta took home the used Subaru. During the event, the WRX was on display for the consideration of those participating in the raffle. The car was in excellent shape but not quite road-ready, so Budds’ Subaru made the additional offer of 40% off the parts and labor required to get it on the streets for the next calendar year up to a total of $5000.

Every year, the Toronto Subaru Club holds the event at Subaru Headquarters. The Toronto Subaru Club is the largest organization dedicated to networking Subaru enthusiasts in Canada. The club was founded in 1998 by Spencer Lui and Colman Chan, who wanted to organize a forum for Subaru owners to share their knowledge and love of their vehicles. The club has always put community service at the center of its social calendar, with a special affection for the Ronald McDonald House Toronto. Throughout the years, the club has raised tens of thousands of dollars for the Ronald McDonald House.
