RMH Toronto makes Construction Chic!
On June 2nd at the Carlu, more than 500 guests showed their creativity by mixing a casual wardrobe staple – denim – with black tie chic at our 'Construction Chic' gala. The one-of-a-kind event was a big success -- raising an astounding $660,000 net for the new Ronald McDonald House Toronto!
Guests mixed and mingled in the midst of construction elements – pylons, flashing lights, tool belts and even a house frame. Everyone got right into the theme - many donning construction bibs and hard hats and wearing jeans to a formal gala. It was time to get chic!
Emceed by Global TV's Susan Hay, the creative genius behind the event was the city's premier event designer Jeffrey Roick (Owner, McNabb Roick), who was committed to securing in-kind support and shaving expenses where he could. As well, much of the fabulous construction décor was purchased at Dollarama, thanks to their generous donation, all ensuring expenses were kept at a minimum.
A big thanks to the generosity of our fabulous sponsors and friends : Sofina Foods Inc., The Kavelman Fonn Foundation; Wellington Financial; Davies, Ward, Phillips & Vineberg LLP; Onex Corporation; Rogers; Jays Care Foundation; The Rogers Foundation; The Mastercard Foundation; Global Toronto; National Post; Tiffany & Co.; C.J. Graphics Inc.; GolinHarris; Sons and Daughters.
Also, thank you to our amazing Construction Chic committee. We truly could not have pulled off this amazing evening without you!
