Toronto's Ronald McDonald House is a 'home away from home' for out-of-town families whose children are receiving treatment for serious illness at Toronto hospitals (generally the Hospital for Sick Children, but others as well). Our goal is to provide an atmosphere for families and their children where the familiar routines of home life can continue as much as possible.

Volunteers are the foundation of our programs. Those interested in exploring volunteer opportunities with us will want to start by attending one of our semi-annual information sessions for prospective volunteers. Please note that all volunteers must be over the age of 18.

Step 1
Contact us at info@rmhtoronto.org or (416) 977-0458 to indicate you would like to be added to the prospective volunteer call list. Be sure to give us your name and contact information. You’ll be given the date of the next scheduled meeting.

Step 2
Attend information session.

Step 3
Consider what you have learned about volunteer roles at the House and your ability to commit.

Step 4
Contact our Volunteer Coordinator to discuss how you might fit into the organization. If opportunities are currently available, you will be invited to attend a personal interview. All House volunteers complete an application form, providing references and further agree to undergo a Police Check.
